Two nights ago I was surfing the net, I suddenly just decided to visit the MyNikonLife website. With barely an hour to go before the closing time of the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival-sponsored assignment, I quickly scrambled to find the pictures I wanted to enter and write up some short descriptions. The title of the assignment was "Fashion Full Stop", and the brief was "your best fashion or music photography".
I captured these at Alberta Cross' gig at The Corner Hotel. They're awesome.
Few days later, a surprise email from Nikon - and this batch of pictures from me was one of three other winning entries!
The judges comments:
"Jeremy Kid's classic approach to music portraiture was outstanding. Highly dramatic use of contrast whilst filling each frame full of detail and intrigue."
Media accreditation and backstage passes to the Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival's opening runway, Fashion Full Stop. As well as a spot in the Nikon School Editorial Fashion Photography course with fashion photographer Christian Blanchard! (The course costs $349!)
Not quite sure what media "accreditation" means, but guess I'll be in the photographers' box capturing the models on the runway. I'm more excited about the backstage access TBH. :P
LMFF is this coming Monday! Need to prepare myself! Excited! (More exclamation marks!!!!)
